Our federation organizes meetings between politicians, representatives of civil society and citizens to approach mayoral elections scheduled for October 2012. This program was an opportunity which is given to political parties to present their political program. This Wednesday at June 13th the president of the Flemish party sp.a Bruno Tobback took advantage of this opportunity. The members of our board of directors and representatives of our member associations took the floor to present their activities. Tobback, who has carefully followed each of them, is very interested in activities in the field of education that undertaken by our federation and BS.Platform which is a student association of Fedactio.
After the presentation round in the conference hall Bruno Tobback gave a speech and expressed that he was surprised and embarrassed at the same time and said "Embarrassed, because I did not know Fedactio and surprised by the extent of its projects". Tobback said the society is no longer homogeneous, but there is a place that everyone can compete with his or her own culture and history. Therefore, we must work together for a shared future. He thanked and wished success to our federation and its member organizations for this opportunity and meeting.
Tobback also added that models as Fedactio and Fedactio’s projects must be much more visible, especially in the negative atmosphere that today prevails. Bruno Tobback emphasized “We find a majority like you who is fully integrated and involved and actively contributing to society and live together in cohesion. We must fight together for a society that everyone contributes and occupies whatever its origin is. It is this objective that we share with Fedactio”. He concluded his speech by thanking the representatives of our associations and our Board of Directors for their work and the hospitable reception.
