The Limburg finale of the Colors of Belgium

The Limburg finale of the fourth edition of the multi-talent contest Colors of Belgium', organized in partnership with Fedactio took place in C-Mine Genk on the 21st of April 2013.

The evening began with a speech held by the president of Beltud Limburg, Bahattin Kocak. Kocak announced that the participants deserved more than money prizes, because they have learnt to live together, to respect each other, which forms the basis of Beltud’s projects.

Children from different cultural backgrounds, coming from all over Limburg have given a message of tolerance, empathy, dialogue and friendship by means of this event

All the participants have performed a song or a poem in a language different than their mother tongue. This way they had the opportunity to improve their intercultural relationship and have e better understanding of other cultures.

The first-prize winners of each category were awarded 100€. The brothers Berdan and Kadir Kalin came in first for the category Special Talent. The winner of the category French Poetry was Berkay Ertas. In the category Turkish Song Shana Vanfraechem won the first prize, while the prize for Frnech Song went to Melissa Aydin.

The show ended with the participants singing together « Kom mijn vriend ».

After this regional finale the finalists have started to practice for the big finale in Antwerp that will take place on April, 28^th.
