The 50 students who obtained the highest marks received a variety of presents, and the first 10 were primed. Arnaud Degros, from Nothomb-Attert School (Province of Luxemburg), Sébastien Bouttefeux, from Jean XXIII Parmentier School (Brussels-Capital), and Sophia Leslie Bokoko from Les Perles School (Province of Hainaut) were selected as the first three laureates of the contest. The prize list is available on the MathQuizz website.
Francolympiades organised several contests for the french-speaking youth of Belgium, notably the MathQuizz, organised in partnership with Ecole des Etoiles and Ecole de Nothomb-Attert. This year, the association La Tulipe and Pangea associated with Francolympiades and 400 students from Year 5 and 6 took part in the contest.
Ecole des Etoiles opened its doors to Francolympiades for the big final, with the cafeteria, sports hall and movie theater. The finalists and their familiy/teachers had a relaxing time where they could watch a movie or play games in the sports hall after the quizz, while waiting for the award ceremony.
A third edition of the competition is planned for the next academic year. More informations on www.mathquizz.be.
