It is well-known amongst students that it is not always self-evident to make a realistic study schedule and to keep up to that planning. Starting from this idea Belgian Student Platform has been organizing study camps for the past 5 years. Because of the growing interest in this activity the student association decided to organize a more comprehensive camp this year. There is a fixed study schedule of 8 hours minimally per day and a dinner and snacks are also provided for the students so they can save time. Group studying is more motivating for students and allows junior students to ask help from senior students. The days usually end with a seminar given by a role model.
Raf Devos, higher education counselor of Flemish Education Minister Pascal Smet was one of the guests who visited the camp. Devos wanted to see the study camp in person and gain information from the organizers and students. After an introduction, Devos held a motivational speech. He stressed that perseverance is important in reaching your goals and advised the students to make full use of the program and support fellow students. Following the speech Devos congratulated BS.P on behalf of himself and Minister Pascal Smet who could not be present at the visit.
