The association Gouden Meridiaan was honored by the town of Ghent and a Belgian group of ladies. This group of ten ladies who organizes an exhibition of their handmade blankets every five years, announced that all funds raised by this event this year would be donated to Gouden Meridiaan .
The exhibition is open until September 29th, in the Crypt hof van Ryhove. Sophie Rubbens, Roos Baetens and Christine Boeve, who devoted 20 years of their lives to this art, said they were very happy to make this donation to the association Gouden Meridiaan. Boeve said that every 5 years , they give the funds to an organization that makes a positive contribution to society. "This year, the politician Resul Tapmaz advised us Gouden Meridiaan. We did not hesitate for a moment after hearing the projects of the association." Kekec Hüseyin, Gouden Meridiaan's director, said he was very honored by the group's choice, and grateful to the town for mentioning their organization. "We see this as the greatest reward for our efforts."
