Vuslat Genk organizes a cultural evening

Writers Aya Sabi and Goedele Ghijsen

Writers Goedele Ghijsen and Aya Sabi were welcomed at Vuslat Genk on 2 December. The event was an initiative by the women from Golden Rose Limburg, on which the writers could present their books.

Goedele Ghijsen warmed children’s and parents’ hearts during her reading session of the children’s book “Sep gaat op reis” (Sep goes on a trip). In the same way, she managed to inspire the attendees during the Q & A –session.

Afterwards Aya Sabi introduced “verkruimeld land” (crumbled land), about a country of extremes. She explained the story’s origins, as well as her motivation to write and her goals as a writer.

Once the literary part of the event was over, everyone savored Turkish delicacies. The evening was a successful mix between gastronomy and culture.
