Trade fair for volunteers in Ghent: everyone to Meridiaan!

For the first time, aspiring volunteer can find all recruiting non-profits in one same place: at Ghent’s trade fair for volunteers. With the aim of engaging more people for their mission, forty organizations put up their stand on 10 March 2018. So did Meridiaan, which explained its operations to the visitors.

And the interest for Meridiaan was significant: some found a good match between their own values and the three pillars on which Meridiaan is built: education, culture and solidarity. Meridiaan illustrated these values with photos and anecdotes, all of which raised people’s enthusiasm. The organization succeeded in recruiting some new volunteers: while some wanted to get involved with homework guidance, others preferred the socio-cultural activities.

Meridiaan was extremely satisfied with the turn-out and the initiative. The organization would like to thank the city of Ghent’s volunteer point for its flawless organization. If there is a next edition, then Meridiaan will certainly be there again.
