The International Festival for Language and Culture (IFLC) has been reuniting youngsters from all over the world for 16 year. Their aim? Promoting coexistence and world peace, a message they transfer through their dashing show filled with dance, music, songs and poetry.
In 2018 the 4th edition of the Belgian component of the show took place on 23 June in Zuiderkroon Antwerp, a city with the same diverse image as the event itself. The Belgian delegation took the stage with a coming-of-age story of a youngster in a superdiverse city. With the piece they portrayed the problems of the metropole and contrasted them with the optimism of the youngster believing in his own talent. In this journey, they were guided by singer-songwriter Eva De Roovere, rapper Fatih Devos and spoken word-artist Sukina Douglas.
The event attracted several VIPs, among which Antwerp Open VLD’s political leader, Philippe De Backer, and the Deputy Major of Culture in Antwerp, Carolien Bastiaens. In total, more than 1 000 theatre-goers were dazzled by the spectacle.
