On
Wednesday 5 December, Fedactio Hainaut and its member association ASBL Dialogue
held an art exhibition with the theme “Human Rights, as seen through the eyes
of a child.”
The
exposition is the result of a project in collaboration with Fedasil Florennes
to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. The project motivated the youngsters and children of the center
to make a drawing about Human Rights.
During
the exposition, Elise Vanhoestenberghe, lawyer and member of la Ligue des droits de l’homme¸
elaborated on the universal declaration, its history of the past 20 years
included. She concluded her discourse with an overview of the main threats to
the declaration in our present society.
Ms.
Dubois, head of the library, and Ms. Mayence of the CRIC Centre Régional d’Intégration de Charleroi then spoke of the
importance of the declaration while mentioning all of the activities in
Charleroi to bring Human Rights under the attention.
